Master jaw / base jaw

Buying a master jaw: which one fits?

The master jaw (also base jaw or jaw holder) is the base jaw that holds the inserts. Which one you need depends on the kN class of your press tool. Pick your machine in the checker below.

What is a master jaw?

The master jaw is the part that clicks into your press tool and holds the interchangeable inserts. This is how the chain works:

Press tool (delivers the force) → master jaw (carries the insert) → insert (gives the profile + size) → fitting (gets pressed)

One master jaw works with many different inserts. So you don't replace the whole jaw for each size, only the insert. You buy the master jaw itself once, matched to your machine.

Which master jaw for which machine?

The master jaw is determined by the kN class (pressing force) of your press tool:

ClassMachine typeMaster jaw
32 kNstandard (Novopress ACO, REMS Power-Press, Viega Pressgun…)standard master jaw
19 kNcompact (ACO 102/103, M12 type…)compact master jaw
15 kNmini / MAP (MAP1, MAP2…)mini master jaw
⚠ Some machines have their own jaw mount, including the REMS Mini (22 kN) and some 24 kN types (such as Ridgid). They don't simply fit a standard master jaw; we are happy to check that in advance. Pick your machine in the checker above.
💡 Price comparison: a single master jaw from a premium brand easily costs €190 to €320, without any inserts. At Stahlpresse you get the complete case for €345: 1 master jaw + 19 inserts in all profiles (TH·V·U·M), UP optional (+€50).

The master jaw is the base jaw in the press tool; the insert is the interchangeable part that determines profile and size. One master jaw works with many inserts.
That depends on the kN class of your press tool: 32 (standard), 19 (compact) or 15 kN (mini/MAP). Use the checker at the top.
No, the master jaw is tied to the kN class. Some machines (REMS Mini, 24 kN) have their own jaw mount: we check those in advance.
